...food allergies just SUCK! Yep, I said it. This month marks the 8th year since our son's food allergy diagnosis when he had his first and thankfully only, anaphylactic reaction to peanuts. One would think we are old pro's at this food allergy thing and I think for the most part we are. I can't lie though, there are still some days I get down about it. It's usually over the little things. It's funny where it creeps up. We are a family that doesn't want to shield our son from the world. ( ......

So we did our allergy testing this week. Last testing for peanut was 3 years ago. Some children will outgrow their allergies but it seems peanut allergy takes the longest to outgrow so the allergist waits a little longer between testing for peanut. The doctor says it seems Michael's peanut allergy will be a life long allergy. We should have seen a decline this time if we were going to see one which we didn't. Actually the reaction was worse compared to 3 years ago. :/ For the first time we teste ......

I know like many parents that have children with Food Allergies I worry so much about what would happen if I get sick or for whatever reason I have to be away from my child for an extended period of time and I am not able to prepare his meals. We never eat out, and I mean never. Every meal comes from our kitchen. It's gotten easy really. I very rarely miss eating out anymore. The food just seems better from scratch anyway. I know everyone has a different comfort level with eating out, and for us ......
